We are pleased to welcome Registered Surveyor Luke Skelton to our team at East West Surveyors. Luke brings a wealth of experience earned on the ground, through real challenges, practical problem solving, and the teamwork that shapes great projects.
Luke brings more than 30 years of surveying leadership across Australia and the United Kingdom, and he joins us with a steady hand and clear focus on complex infrastructure, renewables, and civil development projects.
Luke Skelton’s Background and experience, Key projects and achievements
You may already have seen Luke’s work on projects that shaped modern transport and energy. He helped finalise stakeholder land tenure on the $3 billion Sydney Light Rail, managed six tunnel survey teams on London’s Crossrail, and delivered surveying programs for solar and battery energy storage projects from 135 MW to 500 MW.
Those experiences reflect a consistent approach: practical, people-focused, and detail-driven. Luke believes that technical accuracy matters just as much as communication, trust, and leadership when projects run to tight programmes or difficult sites. In his words, “surveying is as much about people as it is about plans and levels.”
Across his career Luke has led multidisciplinary teams, overseen tenders and budgets, built long-term client relationships, and mentored younger professionals toward registration. At SMEC Australia he worked on subdivisions at Gledswood Hills and Randwick Hospital, and supported major solar and BESS developments including Ridgey Creek, Cooba, and Goulburn River. At Veris Australia he managed full project delivery and strengthened client engagement while growing capability through staff development.
Luke’s international experience brings useful perspective to Australian projects. His tunnelling and station rebuild work in the UK gives him a practical view of engineering, logistics, and commercial constraints that helps clients see a project from multiple angles.
